Achievements

DEMEX boasts an impressive repertoire of demolition jobs done in Canada and abroad.

Here are a few of our achievements:

The demolition of a 400 bedroom hotel complex in the Turks and Caicos Islands (Archipelago in the Antilles, south of the Bahamas).
The demolition of a 162 meter tall chimney in Rouyn-Noranda – one of the tallest in Quebec.
The demolition of two 142 meter pylons in Deschambault-Grondines (in middle of the St-Laurence river)
Demolition of the two series of Söderberg cells at the Rio Tinto Alcan in Jonquiere (Québec)
Demolition of the Gaspésia plant in Chandler (Québec)

Thanks to its achievements, DEMEX was among the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean/Côte-Nord finalists that qualified for the National Bank's SME Awards.

ACHIEVEMENT 1

Project: Demolition of a 250 ton and 262 meter tall concrete chimney in the Quebec region.

Challenge: Working in close proximity to roads and high voltage power lines.

ACHIEVEMENT 3

Project: Demolition of a 350' tall concrete chimney (Sydney, Nova Scotia)

ACHIEVEMENT 2

Project: Demolition of a conveyor gallery.

Challenge: Working with two constraints, height and close proximity to other buildings that had to remain untouched.

Project: Demolition of a 162 meter tall concrete chimney – the tallest of its kind in Quebec.

ACHIEVEMENT 4-b

Project: Demolition of a 162 meter tall cement chimney.

Challenge: Specialized hydraulic scaffolding that lifted the 30 000 lb excavator to a height of 162 m.

Project: Demolition of a 150' tall wooden chimney of an industrial scrubber.

Challenge: Safely finishing the demolition while working with weak structures.
